What the table covers
The rates are a guide and apply across the whole territory of each country. The table does not include special rates in some regions, such as the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira or Corsica, nor the 0% rate or exemptions. Each country decides which goods and services fall under each rate and there are exceptions for some sectors, so check the rate for your transaction with the country's tax authority.
